Why
- Betta (Siamese Fighting Fish) is one of the animals to keep away from a breeding shrimp colony — either it hunts them, or it out-competes and harasses them until the colony stops replacing itself. A White Glove Shrimp colony will not hold its numbers.
- Bettas are notorious for hunting shrimp and White Glove Shrimp is small enough to be worth chasing. Some individuals ignore them completely — provide heavy cover, and be ready to move one or the other.
- No overlapping pH: Betta (Siamese Fighting Fish) wants 6–7.5 but White Glove Shrimp wants 7.8–8.5.
- Betta (Siamese Fighting Fish) will eat White Glove Shrimp shrimplets. The colony still grows if there is moss or another dense hiding place for the babies.

How to make it work
- Keep a large, established shrimp colony in a heavily planted tank with moss and cover so enough survive to breed.
