- Wild-Type Betta and Blue Gourami are both labyrinth fish — they claim the same surface territory and will fight, especially between males.
- Blue Gourami is large enough to threaten a small Wild-Type Betta — usually fine once both are adult, but watch new additions.
Sweet spot: both do well at 76–82°F and pH 6–7.5 — aim there.
