Why
- Almost no shared temperature: Discus wants 82–88°F and Ember Tetra wants 73–82°F, so only 82°F suits both — too fine a margin to actually hold.
- Very different sizes (Discus 8" vs Ember Tetra 0.8") — these two need different tanks, and the smaller fish will be out-competed at feeding time.
Sweet spot: both do well at 82–82°F and pH 5.5–7 — aim there.
