Why
- Panther Crab can grab Discus while it sleeps — only fast mid/top-water fish are reasonably safe.
- Almost no shared temperature: Discus wants 82–88°F and Panther Crab wants 75–82°F, so only 82°F suits both — too fine a margin to actually hold.
- Only a narrow pH overlap — keep both around 7–7.
- Only a narrow water hardness overlap — keep both around 8–8 dGH.
Sweet spot: both do well at 82–82°F and pH 7–7 — aim there.
