- No overlapping temperature: Discus wants 82–88°F but Zebra Danio wants 64–77°F.
- Zebra Danio is a fin-nipper and will shred the long/flowing fins of Discus.
- Large size gap (Discus 8" vs Zebra Danio 2") — watch that the smaller one gets its share at feeding time.
