- Licorice Gourami is not on the verified shrimp-safe list, so we will not recommend it over a breeding White Glove Shrimp colony. It may well be fine — it simply has not been confirmed by a source, and an unverified guess is not worth the colony.
- No overlapping pH: Licorice Gourami wants 4–6 but White Glove Shrimp wants 7.8–8.5.
- No overlapping water hardness: Licorice Gourami wants 0–4 dGH but White Glove Shrimp wants 8–18 dGH.
- Licorice Gourami will eat White Glove Shrimp shrimplets. The colony still grows if there is moss or another dense hiding place for the babies.
