Why
- Tiger Barb is a fin-nipper and will shred the long/flowing fins of Typhoon Pleco.
- Very different sizes (Typhoon Pleco 12" vs Tiger Barb 2.75") — these two need different tanks, and the smaller fish will be out-competed at feeding time.
- Only a narrow water hardness overlap — keep both around 6–7.5 dGH.
Sweet spot: both do well at 75–82°F and pH 6.5–7.6 — aim there.

How to make it work
- Keep the nipper in a bigger group (8+) to spread out the nipping, and avoid long-finned tankmates.
