- Purple Vampire Crab is not on the verified shrimp-safe list, so we will not recommend it over a breeding Orange Eye Blue Tiger Shrimp colony. It may well be fine — it simply has not been confirmed by a source, and an unverified guess is not worth the colony.
- Almost no shared temperature: Orange Eye Blue Tiger Shrimp wants 65–75°F and Purple Vampire Crab wants 75–82°F, so only 75°F suits both — too fine a margin to actually hold.
- No overlapping pH: Orange Eye Blue Tiger Shrimp wants 6–7.2 but Purple Vampire Crab wants 7.5–8.
- Purple Vampire Crab hunts shrimp, though Orange Eye Blue Tiger Shrimp is nearly its own size — losses should be rare with cover.
